How to apply
Georgina Sweet Regional and Remote Physics/STEM Award
Eligibility
Available to year 12 female students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and who will study a STEM discipline at an Australian University in 2025 (i.e. in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths fields). Applicants must be attending high school in an outer regional or remote area of Australia (e.g. as can be determined at: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator/app).
Purpose
The funds are to be used to support studies at university (e.g. towards costs associated with accommodation, travel, fees, books etc). The award will be made as a one-off payment to the successful applicant.
Application Guidelines
1. Prepare documents:
A copy of your official year 11 and 12 (to date) marks
A copy of your university offer into a STEM discipline course
2. Prepare application form:
You can either download this form provided at the bottom of this page or create it yourself. The form should include the following information:
(a). Personal Information
Family Name, Given Name, Preferred First Name
Date of Birth
Are you an Australian citizen? (Yes/No)
If not, are you a permanent Australian resident? (Yes/No)
(b). Contact Information
Mailing Address
Phone Number
Home Telephone (with area code)
Email Address
(c). Describe your future study plans and how you envisage the Georgina Sweet Regional and Remote (GS-RR) STEM Award may assist you (limit of 250 words)
(d). Name and Contact Details of one Academic Referee, e.g. a teacher
(e). Agreements
If successful, I agree to supply a photograph to be used for publicity purposes
If successful, I agree to publication of my name, photograph
If successful, I agree to provide a report on how the funds were used by the end of 2025
If forced to change my initial plan through unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances, I will obtain prior written approval (via the email used to submit the application)
